the The white house Europe may be “unrecognizable in 20 years or less” due to mass migration, he warns in a stark new National Security Strategy, adding that the demographic shift raises doubts about future US allies on the continent.
“If current trends continue, the continent will be unrecognizable in 20 years or less,” said the 33-page document released Thursday.
He adds that “the real and most obvious possibility” is “civilizational erasure.”
Mass migration has been one of the most volatile political flashpoints in Europe over the past decade, fueled by recurring waves of migrants from the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.

“As such, it is not at all clear whether some European countries will have economies and militaries strong enough to remain reliable allies,” the document says. “Many of these countries are now redoubling their efforts on their current path. We want Europe to remain European, to regain its civilizational self-confidence, and to abandon its failed focus on regulatory strangulation.”
The national security plan cites immigration policies that are “changing the continent and creating conflict,” along with “low birth rates” and the erosion of national identity.
The White House warns that the demographic shift could have major implications for NATO and European security, noting that many member states may become “majority non-European.” The document says this scenario could weaken Europe’s ability to deter adversaries and complicate American efforts to maintain transatlantic stability.
“In the long term, it is plausible that within a few decades at the latest, Some NATO members “They will become a non-European majority,” the document says. “As such, it is an open question whether they will see their place in the world, or their alliance with the United States, in the same way as those who signed the NATO Charter did.”

The document says that Europe’s economic decline is well under way, losing a 25% share of global GDP in 1990 to 14% today – “partly due to national and transnational regulation that undermines creativity and industriousness.”
But she says the economic decline is overshadowed by the broader warning of “cultural erasure.” It lists immigration policies, censorship, political repression, declining birth rates, and Loss of national identity As the forces that guide this path.
Trump criticizes Europe over immigration and says the “horrific invasion” is killing the continent
president Donald Trump He echoed similar warnings during a visit to the UK last year, saying mass migration would “destroy Europe” and that the continent “will not survive” unless governments dramatically change course.
The White House defended the warning, saying Europe was already suffering the consequences of mass migration.
“The devastating effects of unrestricted immigration and the inability of these immigrants to integrate are of concern not only to President Trump, but to Europeans themselves, who have increasingly cited immigration as one of their top concerns,” White House press secretary Anna Kelly said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “These open border policies have led to widespread examples of violence, higher crime rates, and more, with detrimental effects on the financial sustainability of social safety net programs.”
Kelly said that Trump’s border policies “saved America from such devastation,” adding that “other countries would be wise to follow suit.”
The White House pointed to a range of European data to support the administration’s concerns, citing studies showing that asylum migration costs the Netherlands 475,000 euros per migrant, illegal immigration costs France 1.8 billion euros in 2023, and that non-Western immigrants commit disproportionate shares of violent crimes in Denmark and Germany. The White House also pointed to a series of deadly terrorist attacks across the continent carried out by migrants.
The 33-page outline does not have a specific author but does contain an introduction by Trump, who describes the document as “a road map to ensuring America remains the greatest and most successful nation in the history of mankind.”
The document forms part of a comprehensive set of national security objectives in which the president pledges to implement the Monroe Doctrine while adding its corollary to expand U.S. influence in the Western Hemisphere and counter the growing footprint of adversaries.
The Trump administration asserts that a “reasonably stable” hemisphere, where governments work together to fight malign foreign influence, is essential to American national security. To achieve this, the administration pledged in the document to “affirm and implement the ‘Trump corollary’ to the Monroe Doctrine.”
Former President James Monroe issued this doctrine in his Seventh Annual Address to Congress on December 2, 1823, warning European powers against interference in the Western Hemisphere through political influence or colonization. the Office of the American HistorianPart of the State Department, he points out that although European countries initially paid little attention to the Monroe Declaration, it eventually became “a long-standing principle of American foreign policy.”

“After years of neglect, the United States will reaffirm and apply the Monroe Doctrine to restore American primacy in the Western Hemisphere, and to protect our homeland and our access to key geographic areas throughout the region,” the document said.
