Parolee identified after deadly stolen car crash kills Colorado father, 3 kids

A father and three young children were killed in a tragic accident Colorado crash On Wednesday, security authorities were able to identify a stolen vehicle and revealed that the suspect in connection with the stolen vehicle had a previous criminal history and was on parole at the time of the accident that also claimed his life.

Alvin Corrado, 35, his children McKinley Corrado, 11, Toretto Corrado, 8, and their friend Jesse Green, 12, all of Colorado Springs, died Monday after a stolen car crashed into oncoming traffic on Interstate 83 in Douglas County, Colorado.

The horrific crash happened just before 4:40 p.m. near milepost 40.5 and involved a stolen Toyota hatchback and the family’s Ford sedan, according to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP).

The Aurora Police Department (APD) confirmed to Fox News Digital that the Toyota had been reported stolen about an hour before the accident after a car was stolen at Nine Mile Station in Aurora.

The carjacking suspect, identified late Saturday by the Douglas County Coroner’s Office to Fox News Digital as Walter Holling, 31, of Denver, allegedly pulled a woman from the driver’s seat of the Toyota and drove off.

While Holling was driving the stolen Toyota on the interstate, he lost control for unknown reasons, over-corrected, rolled into the northbound lane and collided head-on with the family’s car, authorities said.

Holling, Alvin, McKinley, Toretto, and Jesse all died at the crash site.

McKinley and Toretto’s sister, 13-year-old Mia Corrado, and Green’s 14-year-old brother, who were sitting in the back of the car, were airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

APD confirmed to Fox News Digital Huling that she has a criminal history.

Families claim teen murder suspect had been ‘planning’ deadly hit and run for months before killing two girls

Colorado Department of Corrections records show Holling was on parole at the time of the incident, having been arrested in Denver County in 2019 and Arapahoe County in 2015.

Douglas County District Attorney George Brauchler told a local outlet Denver 7 Huling has an 11-page criminal history, dating back to when he was a child.

“This man’s criminal history and the fact that he was apparently on parole and this happened seems like we’re letting the community down,” Brauchler told the news station. “I think there’s a lot of justifiable anger and questions that have to go on after a case like this. I have questions for the state of Colorado, especially a guy who was on parole after violating his parole, and those questions have to be tough, which is: What do we do? Who are you putting out here on the streets?”

Although the juvenile records are sealed, public records obtained by the outlet show Holling was charged with assault when he was 18 years old — resulting in more than a dozen arrests in six years.

Previous charges included bribery, burglary, drunken driving, parole violations and multiple other assaults, records show.

His most recent conviction, in 2019, stems from a Denver assault on a man, his wife and a police officer, according to Denver 7. Huling was sentenced to six years in prison.

In the wake of the tragedyMarissa Corrado, Mia’s mother, said her daughter suffered a lacerated liver, a broken pelvis, a perforated diaphragm, a broken arm and finger, a torn esophagus, broken ribs, a broken back and a bruised lung.

“Mia was transferred to a wheelchair for the first time on Saturday, but she still has heart problems and has fluid in her lungs,” Marissa wrote in a Facebook update.

“Not even ten minutes later [intubation] “Tube out, Mia popped the question we knew was coming and prepared for it,” Marissa wrote earlier in the week. After I asked her where her father was, and I responded with news of the death of her siblings and fathers, she responded, “I know.”

Mia remembers every moment leading up to the accident, and the wreck itself, and was awake the entire time, her mother said.

“[She] “I even tried to help,” Marissa wrote. “We were told by those at the scene that she was awake, but we were not prepared for all the details and were hoping the shock would prevent her from leaving her brain.” We’ll save the extremely horrific and heartbreaking details, especially…the things Mia saw and experienced [are] “Something no one should have to witness, let alone a 13-year-old girl witnessing her family.”

Marissa added that Mia, who was traumatized, told her she was “sorry I lost my kids” and asked her how she was going to be okay.

“We all know this is Mia, always looking out for others and being brave in all difficulties,” she wrote. “I hope soon she can cry and process and grieve, because she won’t give in now [sic] In passion, because she feels the need to be strong for others. …and now realizes that it is not suitable for travel there [her father’s funeral] service.”

A vigil will be held in Colorado Springs for McKinley and Toretto, according to their mother. Their joint funeral ceremony will be held in South Dakota Awaiting the timeline for Mia’s recovery and ability to travel.

A GoFundMe has been created to support the Corrado family with funeral and memorial services, Mia’s medical expenses, ICU expenses and Marissa’s lost wages while caring for Mia.

“Please help me comfort my children and return them home to South Dakota to serve them, and help me care for Mia who has a long road ahead of her,” Marissa wrote in a post. “Thank you for your thoughts and prayers in advance.”

McKinley’s school in Colorado Springs, Sabine Middle School, issued a statement Tuesday calling the loss “incomprehensible.”

“She was a bright, cheerful presence in our school community — a ‘friend to everyone,’ as her mother said,” school officials wrote in a statement. “Please keep the entire McKinley family in your thoughts during this difficult time.”
