New York City voters in all demographic groups are not satisfied with the direction of the city, and most of them are looking for a major change in the city government. This democratic feeling prompted Zahran Mamdani To the forefront in the municipal race, although fears that the proposed tax increases may chase people outside the city.
The new Fox news poll finds the voters registered in New York City, Mamdani, the Democratic Party candidate and its self -declaration. Democratic Socialism, The race leads by 18 percentage points with 45 % support.
The former New York Governor, independent candidate Andrew Como are 27 %, and Republican Cortis Celtic candidate gets 11 %, the current mayor and independent candidate Eric Adams get 8 %. Among the potential voters, the race looks very similar: 47 % mamdani, 29 % Cuomo, 11 % Sliwa and 7 % Adams.
The analysis below focuses on preferences and opinions between registered voters.
Some of the best Mamdani groups include very liberal voters (79 %), those under the age of 35 (61 %), and women less than 45 (60 %), Democrats (57 %), black and Latin voters (49 % each).
Komo receives strong support from Jewish voters (40 %), white voters between 45 years old (37 %), voters between the ages of 65 years and top (33 %) and moderate (31 %).
Republicans Sliwa (41 %) prefer, while five times the number of Komo back (32 %) like Mamdani (6 %). Independents are divided: 26 % Mamdani, 23 % Como and 14 % for Adams and Cealca.
Fox News: Trump’s strong border security rankings, weak in the economy
Large apples have problems: 62 % are not satisfied with the direction to which it is heading, with at least six out of every 10 Democrats (61 %), Republicans (70 %) and independents (59 %) say they are unhappy.
This frustration results in three quarters of voters who want either large (37 %) or dramatic (20 %) or a revolutionary change (18 %) in how to operate the city government. Mamdani has great progress among those who want at least a major change and who are not satisfied with the city’s path. Its advantage is very large, and it also carries an advantage with voters, is satisfied with how things are going.
Mamdani’s supporters are more enthusiastic about voting this year (63 %) and more certainly they will support him (83 %) compared to other candidates. In addition, most of them describe their support for him (86 %) instead of his opponents (12 %).
For Cuomo, 32 % of his supporters are enthusiastic, 65 % asserted and 59 % say their vote for him and not against his opponents (39 %).
Voters say the first three problems facing New York City are the crime (25 %), followed by the cost of living (20 %) and the absence of affordable housing (17 %).
Crime is the number 1 of the Republicans (50 %) and independents (29 %) while Democrats are divided through costs (23 %), crime (19 %) and housing (19 %).
Como It is tightly preferred (+12 points) among those who give priority to the crime, while Mamdani has wide advantages among those who cite the cost of living (+40) and housing (+41).
Fears about the high cost of living, the need for better services for the city and the burden of heavy taxes produces the opinions of accurate policy. For example, seven of every 10 voters in New York City believe that raising taxes would lead to mass migration for companies and people who will make the city more money. At the same time, seven out of 10 out of 10 taxes are preferred for annual income population. There is a large -scale agreement on both the two questions between Democrats, Republicans and independents.
There is a reason that Mamdani is a campaign with Bernie Sanders. New York residents like the independent Senator from Vermont. Sanders is the most popular individual in the poll (61 % favorable opinion), followed by New York Governor Cathy Hochol (53 %), Mamdani (50 %) and Komo (45 %). Adams (29 %), Sliwa (28 %) and President Donald Trump (24 %) are positively seen by about a quarter of voters.
When the voters are asked to say with their own words why they love or hate candidates, the best positives for Mamdani admire his policies in general, and they feel that he cares, changes/having new ideas and focusing on the ability to bear costs. The main reasons that were given to his suffering are that he is communist/socialist, his position in Israel, not admiration for his policies, and lack of real experience and policies.
Are the economic policies generated by Mamdani a potential Achilles heel? Maybe not. In a city where more than twice the number of voters is recorded as Democrats from Republicans, capitalism is viewed more positively than socialism with only seven points (48 % compared to 41 %).
Experience is the highest cause of voters like Komo, while sexual harassment allegations are the main reason for his admiration. For Adams, voters also give him the thumb to experience, while his critics focus mainly on the allegations of corruption. For Sliwa, his main positive feature is that it is difficult for the crime (a higher issue for voters), but the main negativity is that voters do not believe he is a serious candidate.
“Mamdani is the candidate for change in the change elections,” said Darwin Show, a Republican reconnaissance expert, who helps in managing the Fox News with Democrat Chris Anderson. “Like many voters to change the candidates, his supporters are excited.”
Migration and the Middle East
Only 3 % male Illegal immigration As the city problem No. 1, and when it comes to politics options, most (67 %) only prefer to deport the accused of crimes, but allow others to stay in the United States and apply for citizenship.
In the Middle East, more voters return to the Palestinians (46 %) of Israelis (38 %). This is the opposite of the results at the national level. In line with Mamdani’s criticism of the support of Israel and Komo, those who support the Mamdani team with the Palestinians with a margin of 49 points, while those who prefer the Como team with the Israelis with 16 points. More Jewish voters Como (40 %) prefer Mamdani (27 %) or Adams (12 %).
Another thing …
The number of voters in New York City says that the way Republicans talk about politics leads to an increase in violence (68 %) of the feeling of Democrats (32 %). Democrats and the Republicans are likely to think that the words of their counterparts lead to violence, while independents are more likely to cite the Republican discourse as dangerous.

The respondents spoke with direct interviews on the ground lines (150) and mobile phones (598) or completed the survey on the Internet by following a link received via a text message (255). The results based on the voter sample registered with a margin of sampling error from ± 3 percentage points. There was a sub -sample of 814 potential voters and the sampling error margin ± 3.5 percentage points. An error in taking samples for the results between the sub -groups is higher. The results are displayed between sub -groups only when the sample size is at least n = 100. In addition to the error of sampling, the formulation of questions and demand can affect the results. Sources of developing weight goals include the latest survey of American society, Fox News analysis of voters, and voter file data. Weights are generally applied to the variables of age, race, education and the region to ensure that the population composition of the respondents represents the registered voter residents. Potential voters are identified on the basis of the last voting date and the possibility of self -reported voting.
