President Trump will address the nation Tuesday evening in his speech State of the Union address. The risks could not be higher for the president and the country.
Will President Trump re-energize his voters and help the GOP maintain control of Congress in November? He can, and he must. Trump’s agenda is not over yet, and there is still a possibility that it will be Hakeem Jeffries Being Speaker of the House of Representatives must make your hair stand on end. Not because Jeffries is a Democrat, but because he directed the mindless, Trump-hating opposition that would rather hurt the United States than accommodate a president it doesn’t like. Exhibit A: Ridiculous government shutdowns.
With betting sites offering 79% to 81%. Democrats will control the House of Representatives In November, with Democrats leading the general ballot by about 5 points, Trump needs to deliver a surprise — he needs to be upbeat, likable and accurate. The facts are on his side. There is no need for beautification.
First, he can get rid of the inevitable democratic noise by showing off Jack Hughesthe Olympic hockey player who scored the winning goal in overtime Sunday and led the U.S. men’s team to an Olympic gold medal. Hughes, who lost three teeth during the match, proudly declared afterwards, “It’s all about our country. I love the United States of America.” What an inspiration.
Going forward, the president must convincingly address issues that matter to the majority of Americans — not just his own base. Gallup reports that it is not surprising that voters’ main concerns include the economy, especially the cost of living. Trump cannot dismiss “affordability” as a sham; not so. He’s understandably frustrated at having to fix what was his predecessor, Joe Bidenis bankrupt – and that he is to blame for the more than 20% rise in prices he inherited. But the weaker money now stops there.
Trump should announce that inflation is falling and that the slowdown will continue, in part because of his energy policies. Oil production in the United States reaches record levels. This is not an accident. After years of the Biden White House discouraging oilfield investment — including pausing lease sales and sluggish drilling permits — Trump is accelerating both. From January 20, 2025, Inauguration Day, until January 6 of this year, the Trump administration approved 5,742 drilling permits for public lands, an increase of 55% over the same period under Biden. The White House also published an ambitious water leasing schedule, especially for offshore waters, that will ensure high production for years to come.
On Tuesday night, the president must convincingly address issues that matter to a majority of Americans — not just his base.
Removing obstacles to production Domestic fossil fuels is crucial. So is eliminating renewable energy mandates and rules that push consumers toward high-cost electricity. The president cannot undo the foolish and costly energy decisions made by Democratic officials over the past decade, which have pushed electricity prices in New York and other blue states up to 50% above the national average. But his administration is capable of rolling back regulations that drive up energy costs, as is EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin.

Trump’s push to lower interest rates will also lead to lower costs, especially for housing. Moreover, the executive order he signed last month restricting institutional purchases of housing may ease price pressures in target markets. Conservatives don’t like White House interference in private investment, but homebuyers will.
Elsewhere, Trump must reassure Americans that China has seen tremendous growth artificial intelligence It will make their lives better, not worse. People worry about losing their jobs to artificial intelligence and about the enormous energy demands required by the new industry. Democrats have raised these concerns, in some cases opposing the construction of new data centers and generally opposing Big Tech companies.
Our high-profile tech companies have a lot to answer for — from intentionally ensnaring and harming young people to introducing left-wing bias into supposedly neutral tools like search — but leading the country to AI dominance isn’t one of them.
Liz Beck: Trump’s economic victories are real, and now he needs to convince the country
Trump should highlight the productivity gains that AI promises. This will displace some workers, but it will make almost everyone more productive. Increased productivity means higher income. And in industries like healthcare, AI goes beyond efficiency – it enables more accurate diagnoses and accelerates the discovery of new medicines.
Gallup reports that another major issue for voters is “weak government and leadership.” Some may interpret this as a lack of confidence in… Trump White House; Certainly, hostility toward the administration is intense. But the president can turn these sentiments against Democrats, too, by reminding voters how much of their hard-earned tax dollars is being lost to crooks or wasted due to incompetence.

Minnesota has It has become an example of elected officials enabling or ignoring widespread corruption, but the problem is widespread and appears to be concentrated in Democratic-run states that thrive on massive welfare spending. California has come under scrutiny for letting billions in pandemic aid intended for small businesses and the unemployed go to waste. Medicare fraud in the state also runs into the billions. New York is also under investigation.
Immigration is another major concern for voters. This was a key factor in Trump’s election, and it’s an issue he must address. It should be highlighted Deportation of criminals This is what the Department of Homeland Security achieved – and which Democrats opposed. He must differentiate between murderers, rapists, and those who have lived in the country for years and whose only crime was entering illegally. For these individuals, Trump should offer them access to legal resident status if they meet certain requirements, but make clear that they will never become citizens. The Americans will support such a decision.

Finally, Trump should insist that Congress approve a bill Voter ID law – If not as part of a savings law, then a separate bill. The vast majority of Americans want secure elections.
The Republican Party has to get its majority, and that would be a good start.
