First on Fox: Amid the recent start of the second phase of the US-brokered ceasefire between Hamas and the Jewish state, the Israeli military claims that Hamas has violated the agreement by misusing ambulances, hospitals and schools to regain control of the northern Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military has provided Fox News Digital with exclusive video footage of what it claims is Hamas activists using an ambulance to transport terrorists and weapons from the “inner courtyard of the Happy Yemen Hospital” to various checkpoints in northern Gaza.

An IDF official said of the video shared with Fox News Digital: “You see an armed suspect entering the ambulance with a Kalashnikov rifle. The ambulance connects the dots for us. We passed the information to the American headquarters regarding the footage of the militants.”

The first phase of the agreement requires Hamas to return all hostages held in Gaza. The second essential part includes disarming Hamas, a movement that the United States and the European Union classify as terrorist.

An Israeli military spokesman told Fox News Digital: “There have been worrying developments over the past few weeks. We see Hamas returning to the front line, to the yellow line.”

The yellow line separates the territory controlled by the Israeli army in Gaza, estimated at about 53%, from the enclave area that is not under Israeli control.

The Israeli army official claimed, “Hamas has returned to schools, hospitals, and kindergartens and is turning them into military bases. A Hamas leader is in charge of every school in Jabalia, north of Gaza.”

They continued: “We have seen Hamas carrying Kalashnikov rifles, and over the past few weeks, Hamas has been using ambulances. We have tracked over several weeks that Hamas is using ambulances to conduct examinations in… Jabalia. It’s a big change. We see Hamas’s confidence in using ambulances. “It is a symbol of Hamas that it is gaining confidence and rebuilding itself, and it is a sign of a possible raid on our bases in the future.”

The city of Jabalia was the scene of fierce fighting by the Israeli army during the war that lasted more than two years with Hamas. In May 2024, Fox News Digital reported that the Israeli military had secured the bodies of seven hostages from Jabalia. The Israeli army at the time said of Jabalia that Hamas had turned “the civilian area into a fortified combat complex.”

The official said: “In Jabalia camp, there are still operating tunnels. We are working to destroy the tunnels inside the Yellow Line and we are in an advanced stage of clearing the tunnels.”

Fox News Digital has covered extensively during the war about Hamas’ use of hospitals as military centers. An IDF operation against Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza resulted in the arrest of about 100 suspected Hamas terrorists.

Shortly before the ceasefire went into effect in October 2025, the Israeli military showed international reporters a Hamas terrorist tunnel adjacent to the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza City. The Israeli army said that Hamas terrorists were in the hospital and that Jordanian medical teams cooperated with Hamas. The Jordanian state denied the existence of a relationship with Hamas in its field hospital.

The Israeli army official said: “In Al-Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital, a Hamas commander with the rank of lieutenant colonel controls the hospital. We have informed the Americans. The IDF’s freedom of action is limited. Hamas is violating the ceasefire. We have footage of Al-Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital that we used to see before October 7. Hamas is putting citizens in the hospital. The ambulance with Hamas is passing through a major intersection.”

The official in the Israeli army, along with many Americans and Israelis Counter-terrorism officialsBig question marks have been raised over the possibility of disarming one of the worst and most ideologically committed Islamic terrorist movements in the world.

Hamas officials stressed over the past week and Since the start of the ceasefire He will not be disarmed. Musa Abu Marzouk, a senior Hamas official, told the Qatari government-controlled Al Jazeera channel last week that Hamas’ agreement to give up its weapons “never happened, and we did not talk for a single moment about handing over weapons, or any formula for destruction, surrender or disarmament.”

An Israeli army official said: “There are many Belief in the second stage It will include disarming Hamas. I’m very pessimistic about this. Hamas will not give up its weapons, and will stage a show. Hamas may make civilians give up their weapons. The match will be how good the show is.” The official added: “We have indications at the ground level that there is no process of complete disarmament by Hamas. We have information that Hamas activists know that there are no plans for complete disarmament.”
