Erin Murphy never intended to go makeup-free or go without a facelift, but she felt it was important for her to post a recent bare-faced selfie to remind people: “If you’re going to write something, write something nice.”

“This is why I posted it there,” she explained her Instagram post, writing in part: “This is 61…no plastic surgery, no makeup.”
“It wasn’t about saying anything except, you know, if you write something, write something nice. Maybe take a minute and think about it… but it seems very strange that people tend to be so negative,” Murphy told Fox News Digital.
She said she didn’t want to “be the face that doesn’t get a facelift. I definitely don’t want to talk about anyone who’s had a facelift. And that’s also something where the genre takes on a life of its own, where [people say] “Erin is completely natural and Erin will never get plastic surgery.”
While she said she doesn’t think she’ll get plastic surgery, she hasn’t ruled it out.
“There is no shame for anyone who does this,” she stressed. “What I’m trying to say is that people can do whatever they want, people should feel good about themselves, and no one should let strangers tear them apart online.”

She’s not big on doing anything cosmetic. “It’s mostly, you know, like topical stuff. I use good skin care,” she said.
