The Trump administration quickly removed Carrie Prejean Buehler, a former Miss California winner, from the White House Religious Council amid accusations that she worked to “hijack” an anti-Semitism hearing, which drew applause from attendees. Religious leaders And conservatives.
“Carrie Prejean has been fired from the Religious Freedom Commission, thank God,” a former Trump White House official told Fox News Digital in response to the ouster. “These committees exist to advance the president’s agenda, not to serve as a personal platform for hatred of Jews.”
Brejean Bowler was fired from the White House Religious Freedom Committee after she worked to “hijack a hearing” held Monday on anti-Semitism in the United States to advance her “personal and political agenda on any issue,” according to the committee’s chairman, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.

Trump created the Religious Freedom Commission in May under an executive order directing the Justice Department to provide support for the newly formed body that focuses on upholding “federal laws that protect the full participation of all citizens in a pluralistic democracy, and protect the free exercise of religion.”
The committee held a hearing Monday at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., on combating anti-Semitism and supporting religious freedom, where Brijean Buehler wore a Palestinian flag pin and engaged in tense discussions.
Brijean Buehler converted from evangelical Christianity to Catholicism last April, and cited her Catholic faith in her statements rejecting Zionism during the hearing.
She said: “I am a Catholic, and Catholics do not embrace Zionism.”
Catholic League President Bill Donohue quickly called for her ouster in an opinion piece published on his organization’s website, stressing that she did not represent Catholics in her statements.
“Brjean Bowler is a former Miss California and converted to Catholicism,” he wrote on Wednesday. “She does not run a Catholic organization, has no Catholic credentials as an author or teacher, and actually represents no one but herself. For her to say, without qualification, that ‘Catholics do not embrace Zionism’ is pretentious and arrogant.”
He said, “Zionism is a movement that promotes the right of Jews to self-determination in their homeland.” “There are millions of Catholics like me, who, even if they do not identify as Zionists, recognize the Jewish state of Israel. Brejean Buehler clearly does not. She feels more comfortable showing up at the Religious Freedom Committee wearing a Palestinian flag pin. That much is clear.”
“Her claim that Catholics are against Jews is ridiculous,” added Sean Carney, president and CEO of the pro-life group 40 Days for Life, in a comment to Fox Digital.
“This segmentation is a modern fad and internet invention,” Carney said. “For centuries, Catholics have understood that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Davidic Kingdom and that our faith comes from the Jews. Catholic teaching holds that the Church is the fulfillment of Old Testament promises. To suddenly claim that Catholics are against the Jews is absurd – a modern Internet-based error.”
He added that Trump has a very strong track record of recruiting and appointing Catholics to his administration, noting that “no president in modern history has done more to protect the religious freedom of both Catholics and Jews.”

At one point, Brijean Buehler got into a heated argument with Shabbos Kestenbaum, a former Harvard student who sued the university over its response to anti-Semitism.
“Are you willing to condemn what? Israel What happened in Gaza?” Bregen Buller asked Kestenbaum during the hearing. “Aren’t you going to condemn that? Just on the record.”
She also defended Candace Owens when Babylon Bee founder and CEO Seth Dillon pressed her if the commentator had made anti-Semitic remarks.
“Do you think anything Candace said is anti-Semitic?” he asked her after referring to Owens as one of the “most famous anti-Semites” in the current political landscape.
“No, I don’t,” Brijean Bowler replied.

The former Trump White House official continued to comment on Fox Digital that support for Israel has long been a priority for the president Donald Trump.
“President Donald Trump has been clear for decades that he proudly stands with the Jewish people and with Israel, America’s closest ally,” the former official said. “Supporting Israel and standing with Jewish Americans is not only morally right, it is America first.”
Trump says the GOP and MAGA don’t need it, and he hates people with anti-Semitic views
“President Trump has achieved historic victories for the Jewish people. He recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moved the US Embassy there. He recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. He brokered the Abraham Accords and reshaped the Middle East. He kept his promise to repatriate every hostage and made clear that anti-Semitism at home will be confronted head-on, including holding universities accountable when Jewish students are targeted.”

Conservatives and others on social media celebrated her ouster while condemning her remarks at the hearing.
“The only person who brought up Zionism at this event was… Carrie Prejean Buehler.” Punchi posted. “A classic conman’s play is going on here. Causing a scene of her own, claiming to be the victim, making a profit. A story as old as time.”
“Whatever you think of the rest of Carrie Prejean Buehler’s opinions, wearing the Palestinian flag to a hearing on religious freedom is disgraceful,” said Jim Hanson, president of information warfare firm WorldStrat and editor-in-chief of the Middle East Forum.
Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz said that although he did not know Prejean Bowler personally, what he saw of her actions was “just sad.”
“There are 57 Islamic countries on the face of the Earth; this poor country has been deceived into believing that the reality of Israel’s existence – in the Promised Land that Jehovah gave to the Jewish people thousands of years ago – is somehow the source of all its problems.” books. “No, Catholics don’t hate Israel. As Charlie Kirk has repeatedly said, anti-Semitism is brain rot, and someone poured that poison into its head.”

“You did not appoint me to the committee, and you lack the authority to remove me from it,” Brijean Buehler wrote on X in response to Patrick. “This is a blatant violation of your role and leads me to believe that you are acting in accordance with the Zionist political framework that has hijacked the hearing, and not in defense of religious freedom.”
Cruz responded to X: “Let’s be clear: President Trump is the one who fired her.”
The former Miss California continued to stand by her statements, saying that she “will never kneel to the State of Israel. Never.”

“Christians have been manipulated into believing that God blesses bombing, famine and mass killing,” Prejean said Published to X. “This is the opposite of Christ, who came to stand with those who suffer and face power. I completely reject this lie. I am not beholden to money, donors or access. I belong to Christ alone who is the way, the truth and the life. I would rather die than kneel to Israel.”
Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for additional comment on the matter Thursday, and attempted to reach Prejean Boller Friday for comment.
