Candace Cameron Bure says faith helped her overcome cancel culture

When it comes to overcoming cancel culture in Hollywood, Candace Cameron Bure She has always leaned on her faith.
During Tuesday’s episode of Candace Cameron Bure podcast.The “Full House” alum spoke about a difficult time in her life where her character was questioned and explained how her faith in God helped her persevere.
“In 2022 and 2023, it was a really tough year for me because of some things with work and movie networks and a lot of things, bad things were said about me that weren’t true and the headlines were made up,” she said. “I felt like my character had been thrown to the ground, you know? I felt like I had lived a life of integrity and honesty, and it was really hurtful.”

“It wasn’t just about what people said, but it led to it Losses of contracts and partnerships “It’s been dissolved and gone and the friendships that have just disappeared,” she added. “It felt like it would never end. I felt like I had been on the witness stand for a year, and it was terrible.”

Bure also spoke about the Parable of the Talents in the Book of Matthew, saying, “I think about it all the time, especially during that season when I needed perseverance and resilience. I thought, ‘Okay, what am I going to do? Will I give up? Am I going to let all these people go, or am I just going to cancel the culture that gets me down? Am I going to let all these words hurt me so much that I won’t be effective in God’s kingdom anymore? This is exactly what the enemy wants… I am not giving it to him because I hate him.”
“What will I do? I will pick myself up, and I will trust in you, Lord, that you have my back and I will take one step at a time…no matter what it looks like and no matter how long it takes. But I will continue to walk with you, hand in hand, my God, because the enemy will not win, and he will not win over my life, and I am steadfast in that, I know it, and I will not allow it.” Take me down, I trust God so much.”

In the interview, the “Full House” alum, who was known as the “Queen of Christmas” during her time at the Hallmark Channel, expressed her desire to bring Christ back into Christmas movies.

“I would like to address my comments regarding the Great American Family shows as reported in the Wall Street Journal,” Bure said in a statement obtained by Fox News Digital at the time.
She continued: “Everyone who knows me knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have great love and affection for all people. It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would think that I would intentionally want to offend or hurt anyone.”

Earlier this year, Bure opened up about her personal journey of growth, sharing the unexpected ways God has shown her.

I want to feel your presence. Help me through this.’ And sometimes you want to win in the end, and it gets you to the end, and you say, “Yes, I did that.”
“And sometimes you lose, and sometimes you fail, but in those moments I realize, ‘Oh my God, you were with me. You really helped push me forward, even if it ended in failure, even if I didn’t feel brave enough and felt like it wasn’t what I wanted it to be. And the fact that I actually did it, or I overcame the fear, or I had the courage, or I had the stamina to walk one step further, is because of you.”
