Country star Brantley Gilbert has built a life for himself on his South Georgia farm and is doing everything he can not to let go.

The country star revealed that his three children are homeschooled and learning “what kids need to know and not what some people in this world feel like they want to know.”

“I kind of — when I get off the road, shows like these, and being out here on the road is ‘wild and crazy’ now,” Gilbert began, noting that he has been sober for 14 years.

He continued: “I come home, and I don’t really leave the farm. I’m not — and maybe this isn’t a great thing to say about what I do for a living, but man, I don’t live on social media. In fact, I barely look at it.” “Just as a husband and father of three kids, you know, between that and the music business, I don’t have enough time and enough effort to do something that can take a lot out of them.”

“I actually started a school three years ago. It’s like a home school — teaching kids what kids need to know and not a lot of what, you know, some people in this world feel like they want to know. It’s a really important thing, so I try to help where I can,” Gilbert said. “I think she’s doing something very important there.”

“So, they call Mondays and Fridays ‘work days,’ and those are their two favorite days of the week,” Gilbert said of his two older children. “You know, my brother and dad come and pick them up, and they wake up, and they’re out at a million miles an hour, and they actually make them work. And they play, but they have to work first.”
