Hilary Fordwich, an expert on the British royal family, told Fox News Digital that declining public opinion about the monarchy plays a role in William’s less calm state.

“Given the current downward polls on the public’s perception of how the royals are handling this crisis, as well as the actual scandals that all the royals feel this way, it’s no wonder Prince William, who from the beginning wanted to draw a tougher line, feels less calm,” Fordwich said.

Fordwich explained that William and Middleton not only avoided scandal, but that their morals gave the monarchy a saving grace.
