In video interviews conducted by The American Border Story (TABS), obtained exclusively by Fox News Digital, angel mother Vicki Shermock-Lyon and her grandchildren, Brianna and Brandon Shermock, described the absolute devastation they felt after losing their daughter and mother, Denyelle Nicole “Nikki” Shermock, in the collision.
According to Vicki, the illegal immigrant in the other car was driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs when he swerved onto the other side of the highway in (Fort Myers, Florida). While driving on the wrong side of the road, the illegal rammed his pickup truck into Nicky’s Honda minivan. Nikki, who was 25 years old, died instantly. Meanwhile, the violator survived, although he was thrown from the truck and broke his legs.
Brianna and Brandon, who were just 4 years and 16 months old at the time, respectively, were also in the car at the time of the accident and were taken to a hospital in Orlando. Brandon suffered skin abrasions and bruises, while Brianna underwent emergency brain surgery.

In the interview, Vicki said that she said goodbye to her daughter for the last time just twenty minutes before the accident. When she received a call from her son telling her the news, Vicki said she immediately jumped into her car.
“I didn’t know where to go or what I was doing. I got out, jumped in my car, and it just took off, and I realized I had to find my kids,” she said.
When she arrived at the scene, authorities and paramedics informed her that the children had already been taken to the hospital.
Vicki said she couldn’t believe her daughter was gone and kept asking, “Where’s Nikki?” Where’s Nikki?” When a paramedic confirmed her daughter’s death, Vicky said she “just collapsed.”
The authorities took her to the hospital, where they examined her grandchildren.
“Finally, the coroner’s office came and said, ‘We want you to come and identify your daughter’s body,'” she said, holding back tears. “So, her father and I went to the coroner’s office, and the morgue, and we had to identify Nikki’s body. I only saw her twenty minutes ago. “I can tell you what she was wearing, what she was wearing that day, and then to see her broken body, it still haunts me.”

Meanwhile, the violator was transported to the hospital and then to a rehabilitation center for treatment. But according to Shermock’s family, Al-Muhajir’s family came “in the middle of the night” and took him out of the hospital, and he has not been seen or heard from since.
“The family of the illegal criminal came and arrested him,” Brandon explains in the video.
“There were no cameras as far as I know. They just said, ‘He’s coming with us,’ and then he just disappeared. There’s no way to document where he was, where he went, he just disappeared.”
Today, nearly 25 years later, the illegal immigrant still has not paid for his crimes, the family said.
“Maybe with the open borders from the Biden administration, he’s back here somewhere,” Vicki noted.
Speaking about the Biden White House, Vicki said: “They have blood on their hands, he and his entire administration, and they have no conscience about what they did to us as parents and loved ones.”

On the other hand, the family praised the actions taken by the Trump administration to close the border and restore immigration enforcement in the United States
Speaking with Fox News Digital, Vicki shared this boss Donald TrumpBorder Czar Tom Homan “promised me he would do everything in his power to help locate the illegal immigrant responsible for my daughter’s death.”
“He made it clear that this fight is not over, not for my family, and not for the other Angels families who are still waiting for justice,” Vicki said. “Knowing that someone loves Frontier Czar Homanwhich truly understands the failures of our broken system, gives me a sense of hope I haven’t felt in years. “This means letting the world know that this administration actually cares about holding criminals accountable and putting American families first.”
“Sharing our story is painful, but I know it’s important,” she explained. “If someone else understood what’s really going on in this country and why we need to secure our borders, maybe another family wouldn’t have to go through what we did.”
“The loss of Nikki has shattered our world,” Vicki continued. “There’s no manual for how you rebuild after something like this. You just wake up every day and do your best to survive. I’ve tried to be strong for her kids, Brianna and Brandon, and make sure they grow up knowing who their mom is and how much she loves them.”
